Modules Overview

AfricaOS modules are functional units you install per organization. Each module handles a specific business domain and can be configured independently. You only pay for what you use.

Core modules (included with every plan)

These are active by default and cannot be uninstalled:

Installing a module

Go to Settings → Modules → Available
Browse categories or search by name
Click Install on the module card
Review pricing impact (shown before confirm)
Complete the module's setup wizard
Assign team access in Settings → Team

Module configuration

Each installed module has these configuration sections:

General settings

Module-wide preferences, defaults, and behavior

Workflows

Automation rules, triggers, and approval chains

Custom fields

Add fields, validation rules, and conditional display

Templates

Document, email, and report templates

Integrations

Connect external services (Stripe, QuickBooks, etc.)

Permissions

Role-based access control per module

Active	Fully configured, available to users	None needed

Managing modules

Disable temporarily

Hides module from launcher, preserves data:

Settings → Modules → Installed
Click ⋯ → Disable
Data preserved, no billing impact

Uninstall permanently

Removes module and schedules data deletion:

Disable the module first
Click ⋯ → Uninstall
Type module name to confirm
Data archived 90 days, then deleted

:::warning Uninstalling deletes all module data permanently after 90 days. To recover, reinstall within 90 days. :::

Cross-module features

Unified search (⌘K) - Search patients, invoices, stock items, bookings across modules
Linked records - Connect patients to bookings, stock items to purchase orders
Workflows - Automate processes spanning modules (e.g., "Payment received → Create patient record")
Consolidated reports - Dashboards pulling from multiple modules
Shared contacts - Customers, patients, vendors shared where relevant
